The film
A conversation
that continues.
For years, Meriem called her father on her commutes. He was her companion across the distance between New York and Morocco, joking that he was her free taxi. After his death, she kept reaching for the phone.
Built from eleven voice notes recorded over eighteen months, Mon Taxi turns that daily ritual into an intimate documentary about grief, memory, and the bond between a father and daughter. Across languages, family images, and moments of humor, an ordinary conversation becomes a way to keep a relationship alive.
The eight-minute short carries a deeply personal Moroccan and Riffian story into a universal experience: wanting to speak to someone who can no longer answer.
